this story actually took place on daylight savings.

i get a call from our executive secretary on saturday evening telling me that i was supposed to go to ward council these days (who knew?) for my calling (wait did i tell you what my calling is? its ward information co-chair). okay so ward council was at 8 am. my ward starts at 9. whoa thats early huh?! i know i know. the convenient thing is that i didn't have to shower that morning, so really only had to wake up like 30 minutes before time to go which was 7:45. okay so i set my alarm on my phone for like 7:15 and then off to bed i go.

k lets fast forward to the part where i wake up at SEVEN THIRTY and i am like holy cow i need to run and get ready because umm i am late. so i am running around like a crazy person and i run out the door. i felt like a wreck because i did NOT have enough time to get ready, and i mean it was my first ward council so i didn't really know where i was going so i realllly didn't want to be late. i was walking super fast trying to be on time. the whole time when i was walking i was thinking where in the heck is everyone, like it was about 15 minutes before it started and there should be like 20 or so people at this meeting so i was wondering where everyone else was! so that was weird. anyways so i kept walking fast and finally get there and then am trying to find the room that this lovely meeting was supposed to go in. finally i find a room with the bishop and some people so i walk in there a little flustered and i probably looked like a wreck, i mean i woke up 15 minutes ago and i said, "is this where ward council is?"

haha the sweet bishop got the funniest look on his face and said "oh, i'm sorry, this is a different meeting, ward council isn't for another hour! did you remember daylight savings?!" i felt pretty silly, pretty silly indeed.

apparently i assumed that my dear phone would automatically change the time, but i actually needed to turn it off and then turn it on again before it would change to be the correct hour.

i stumbled through an explanation and then told the bishopric and few other people there that i would see them in an hour at the correct meeting! then i walk out and just feel silly! i am trying to figure out what happened and figuring out my game plan.

i was trying to figure out if i would have time to walk home and then back within the hour, and i decided i wouldn't, or atleast it wouldn't be worth it. it takes like 15 min to walk home, so i mean it would be a half hour of just walking and then i would only have like 20 minutes after i was there. so instead i just found myself a cozy spot on a couch and since i was like one of only 6 people in the whole building at that unearthly hour it was a pretty quiet spot to just sit and read my scriptures for a bit and continue to wake up.

well an hour later people finally began showing up and when the real meeting began of course the bishopric had to crack a few jokes about daylight savings and about how someone had forgotten about the time change (i didn't forget people it was my phone's fault). but yeah it was a good laugh, and a great story to tell.

just remember that for next year, k?
