better late than never...

angels landing.



um how sick is this?
this was like the grossest bathroom EVER and i mean seriously there were like 10 barrels of these "human waste" containers around!
too funny.


taylor was pulling crazy stunts the whole time.

so we hike all the way to the top of this.
just pretty much up the part that is facing the camera.
yes, i know, crazy.


um yeah this was one of the scariest parts.
death on one side...death on the other.
this was taken on the way back but on the way there this was the spot where i almost turned around!

















oh my heavens so i mean we all know taylor is hysterical. i'm so glad he came. love that kid. so when we were leaving provo we stopped at walmart to grab some food and water. we were walking by the fruit and taylor saw the pineapple. "only $1.49," he says, and he had to grab one. he had this plan to carry it with him to the top of the mountain and then we would cut it open and enjoy. he didn't have a knife either so while we were at walmart he found one for only 2 dollars or so. so he seriously carried this pineapple all the way up the DANG mountain and then when we were at the top he carefully cut it and we had the delicious snack. seriously it was so good, the pineapple was super cold since it was cold outside and it had been in his bag and it was so juicy. um what a delightful treat after being tired and hiking to the top. so yeah yeah taylor, after making fun of you the whole time, i'll publicly admit...it was a good idea.




so this is the story.

the weekend before thanksgiving my cousins brooks and taylor wanted to go to angels landing on a hike. i thought it was a GREAT idea and luckily brooks was able to get work off so we went and made a trip of it! we left late on friday night and didn't get in zions until 1:00 or 2:00 am. so at that point our version of camping out was just me and taylor sleeping in the back of brooks's car with a ton of blankets and brooks was out on the ground in a sleeping bag. ha he didn't want to take the time to set up the tent and everything since it was super late, and he has a really warm sleeping bag. so he pretty much just slept outside on the bare ground in a sleeping bag. kind of sad. haha when taylor and i were getting situated we were putting on lots of warm things and i had these long (and cute if i might add) socks and haha taylor borrowed a pair so he would keep warm. so he had these cute long striped socks on. we forgot to take pictures though dangit.

SO the next morning is where the fun begins.

we got up and it was fahREEZING out. so we bundled up, like layers and layers and started up the mountain! the first part of the mountain is relatively easy...not much to it. there are alot of switch backs and nothing is really steep. we got really hot after hiking for like a half hour because it started to warm up and because we were moving around and then we had all sorts of warm things that we needed to pack around!

after we hiked for awhile up the regular part it got to the hard part. this is where things get exciting. for the next part of the hike it is like a mile or so long and there is a chain to hold on to. there is a cliff on either side for most of the hike, it's usually a 800-1200 foot drop! i started to go and was getting freaked out and then we get to this part that is like a 3 foot bridge with a cliff on either side. death on one side death on another. i was freaked. i was going to turn around and just stay and wait for brooks and tay to get back but then wouldn't let me.

after some persuading i ended up going and i am so glad that i did! it was BEAUTIFUL, i absolutely loved it. i don't know if i would do the hike again, i'm not quite sure if i would be that brave. but ahh it was so fun. i'm pretty sure everyone should do it.
