weekend at home

so i went home this last weekend. gosh it was fun! my cousins who live in nyssa (like 15 min from meine hause) always have a pheasant hunting luncheon type thing. its quite the celebration. my cousins in salt lake drove down for the big day and i hitched a ride!

for the pheasant hunting part of the day the boys always go to breakfast at 7:00 that morning at a little diner in nyssa. after that they all load up and go hunting! my little brother loves that. well my sisters all had a soccer game on saturday, they were gone ALL DAY. they had to play five dang hours away so unfortunately they were gone and missed the festivities. my dad and alek still made the trip to the diner for breakfast however, along with our friends who came up for the weekend, so i decided to come as well! i got up at 6:30 (thats early) and joined all the guys for breakfast! what a treat.

then we headed home and i went back to bed :)

claire and kade had soccer games that morning that i got to go to! yayyy go claire and kade! they are both pretty ROCKIN at soccer, too bad i forgot those pictures at home on my family camera. after the games we ran over to nyssa for the delicious lunch my aunt makes for us every year on opening pheasant hunting day. it was DELICIOUS as always, she is a stellar cook. we also had the traditional dairy queen cake for my uncle warrens birthday! we could only stay for a bit because popular claire had a birthday party to attend so we ate and ran.

after we dropped off claire at her friends house i was thinking "hmmm its a BEAUTIFUL day." so guess what i did?? i LAYED OUT. remember how thats my favorite thing?? ya and it was in the middle of OCTOBER! holy cow. so that was fun. then after we grabbed claire we ran to the pumpkin patch! now i felt a little silly going to the PUMPKIN PATCH without my whole family. that is a family event. but i guess we made do since they weren't in town and we picked them some great pumpkins. (like really cool ones)

next on the agenda was a ward party. it was a hay ride, and although my mom was a bit skeptical at first, we had fun :). after that was over with emma and hannah wanted to go out to a movie, so we went to a late night showing (9:45, who are we?) of the express...a great movie ps. i am a sucker for those sports, segregation, inspirational movies though, and i loved it. i reccomend it. go. you will like it.

FINALLY we got home at like midnight, and then the trips and jos were back! we sure missed them. i left on sunday after church, it was a short trip, but TOTALLY worth it. thanks mollie and emily for the ride!

How fun, I've never attended any of the hunting festivities, but it sounds like a fun time. I always loved going home from school, but it only happened on holidays for me. You are lucky to be a bit closer!
