so last weekend jami, lauren, and joslin all played in the district tennis tournament. okay so for one i noticed that i stress out when i have to watch people who i like play a close match. for TWO the girls did great. joslin had one really close match with this girl who had this random power serve.
lauren played two matches the first day and won one so she advanced to friday! she ended up losing on friday, but she had to play a number 1 player from another school so she did great! good job lo!
jami played and did so awesome, holy she was great. she played this one girl who is pretty nice, just extremely annoying from parma (ps parma always rocks it at tennis, they always have a GREAT team, and this year was no difference) and ended up losing, but i mean the girl is really consistent (this girl who she played, when her opponent serves the ball into the net she says "no," as in the ball is out. okay who does that?? OBVIOUSLY they can see that they just served the ball into the net and that they will need to re-serve. so irritating). ANYWAYS after all the matches she was playing on saturday morning for 5th or 6th in districts! now i mean, 6th is good...but not so good if you are wanting to go to state, only the top 5 players make it to state. so it was intense.
i was in boise with joslin during jamis match unfortunately so i got updates via texting from my dad. (ha, i know my dad texts, its great). so i was freaking out, the first set was just back and forth, she was down 2-3, they are tied 3-3, jami leads 3-4, you know just seriously neck and neck. well jami kept going and they ended up at 6-6, which is a tie breaker. a tie breaker is the first person to 7 points, and you have to win by two. SO i am seriously freaking out over in boise and again their tie breaker is just back and forth back and forth, so close. jami was down by one a few times so i was a little worried, but jami ended up winning 8-6!!! so she won the first set and after she won that one the other girl sort of gave up and jami won the next set 6-2.
so how great is that? as a FRESHMAN jami got 5th in districts and made it to state! basically we are so excited, and can't wait to cheer her on (and get tan) at state!! whooo.
