so i had to give a talk today.
it was the last sunday that we are even having speakers in this ward and lucky me i got chosen! actually it wasn't that bad, i enjoyed preparing the talk, even thought it was at 1:30 the night (morning) before.
the topic was to choose a BOM prophet and talk about how his teachings have affected my life and then how it has strengthened my testimony of the Book of Mormon. it was a relatively easy topic, i chose to speak on moroni. i am so glad that it is over with, that is for sure.
here is a quote that i really liked that i used today in reference to moroni chapter 10 verse 30 when it talks about coming unto christ:
“The words 'come unto Christ' are an invitation. It is the most important invitation you could ever offer to another person. It is the most important invitation anyone could accept. From the beginning of the Restoration of the gospel in this dispensation, it has been the charge given by Jesus Christ to His representatives. Love the quote, and I'm sure you gave an excellent talk. So fun for you to be moving on, but it will never be the same as your freshman year!

Sounds like fun... good topic! When I was in the Bishopric I enjoyed coming up with interesting and open topics for the speakers... that's a good one. Good quote too... who said it?
