dead phones, thanksgiving and cleaning checks

i know i know. i haven't updated this forever! its just that i haven't had any fabulous new stories.
okay but i just thought of a few.

a. we went and visited the monks on saturday! for our humanities class we went to a monestary and it was quite interesting! they sell honey and jam for a way for them to make money and i got some jam...let me tell you it was delicious. i got raspberry. yum yum! when we got to the monestary (it was like 2 hours away by a town where i have stayed before- eden) we first went and watched them do their ritual prayer thing. then we went and we could go to the gift shop or listen to a small presentation by father david, he was a sweet old man, so funny! then we had a chance to ask him questions. there hasn't been a new monk at that monestary for over 25 years! sad! that monestary might end up shutting down.

b. after the monestary i was going to go and watch the soccer game with some friends and then watch the football game but i decided to stay home and accomplish things instead! it worked well for me! i did laundry, cleaned my room, and finished some homework. i feel really good about that night!

c. the other day i updated my planner. i can't remember if i already talked about this or not, but if so then oh well! basically i think that it made a huge difference! i feel so much more organized. so i recommend that everyone go and get a planner. k.

d. i sort of dropped my phone off of the balcony today. onto cement. it was so dramatic and like something that you would see on a movie, i swear it was slow motion! i was talking to my mom and my bro kade and holding the phone with my shoulder and head. next step was when i was getting my keys from my purse. it started to slip and the next part was the slow mo part. it slipped and hit the railing and it was like flying in the air and i didn't know which side of the railing it would fall on: the stairs (which wouldn't be so bad but still kind of bad), or on the other side, the cliff. well it fell on the other side. so the battery fell out and everything but i put it together and it worked fine! i called my mom back and all was well! but then it shut off. and freaked out. so basically what happens it that it works fine for five minutes or so, i can call people or whatever. then it stops working. the screen goes blank and the buttons don't respond. however i learned that if i take out the battery again and start the process over, it works again for a few minutes! so ya i am just going to let it rest tonight and see how it does in the morning!

e. my sisters have state soccer this weekend and i MIGHT go. we will see. i may borrow andrews car. but i am not sure yet. i was explaining to kade how i don't have a car and he was like "oh we can drop one off for you, dad will drive the van and mom can drive the white car and we will leave it for you" it was so cute! i like him.

f. we just had a cleaning check. i am sorta glad we had the cleaning check because otherwise no one in this place really cleans, so not it is clean! it was a pain though and i feel like i have nasty cleaning supplies all over me.

h. i want to dye my hair brown. like darker. i don't know why i just suddenly decided that the other day. haha when my mom said something about that kade and alek were like "i thought she already has brown hair?" true story. but i want it darker. i don't know something different. i think i will do it over thanksgiving break. how do you feel about that?!

i. i am selling my byu vs utah ticket because i am going to be home for thanksgiving instead. i put it on ebay and it is already up to 60 dollars! wow! good think i put it up there, that was lucky!

j. i can't wait till thanksgiving. mostly because i will see the farrars whom i haven't seen forever! and the family! another fabulous part of thanksgiving is that the day after we decorate for CHRISTMAS! oh my i love christmastime. i decided the other day that the actual christmas day as in december 25 isn't even the best part. it is the part leading up to it with our christmas tree and listening to "hey santa" and "christmas in the northwest" and "little drummer boy" by the northwest boychoir. its the fun garland on the stairs and our sweet santa collection in our library! its our fun night when we all decorate the christmas tree and are SUPER careful with all of our fragile ornaments from germany! ohhh man just thinking about it makes me happy. i can't wait to decorate! i told my mom that right after our thanksgiving feast i wanted to start getting the boxes out but she said that i have to wait till the next day.

k. the other best part about thanksgiving is the delicious desserts that the farrars and farmers make. pumpkin pie. pumpkin cake. pumpkin rolls. pumpkin muffins. um yes its true we like pumpkin things! oh baby oh baby thanksgiving will be great. i just have to get through some exams before then!
