the prophet, a concert, waffle thursday, and football

i have a bagillion things i haven't talked about on here yet! k this is long get ready!

a. i saw president gordon b. hinckley speak on tuesday, it was so amazing! i was able to go to the marriot center and see him, i had pretty good seats because two of my roommates were nice enough to save some for me! so we were like 30 rows back or so, it seems far, but it was close considering the building holds like 20000 or something people. i was sitting from some friends from weiser and my roommates when we noticed that in front of us in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows people were getting up and they were allowed to go sit in some chairs that were directly in front of the podium. they just had extra seats there so some people got to move up. WELL, kimball (from weiser) had the brilliant idea that we should go and sit up in those now empty seats that were like 2nd and 3rd row back. so it took me a second and we kept saying "should we go?" "ya" but i was too scared becuase i didn't really know if we were supposed to sit there so nothing really happened. finally i told kimball that if he would go i would follow. so luckily he went so 4 of us moved up front we were in the second row! when the prophet walked out we were like 20 feet away. the talk was really good...my favorite part i think is when he walked in and everyone immediately got silent and stood up in reverence. it was amazing. he has such a sweet spirit, and he is so dang funny! when he first came in like a billion people were taking pictures haha and he sat down and put a paper in front of his face! he makes me laugh. after the talk when he was walking out everyone stood up again, and he was waving at everyone and after he got off the stand he put his fist in the air and said "keep at it" and then did the same thing again and said "fight the good fight!" how amazing. i loved that, i don't think i will ever forget him saying that and smiling.

b. i went to a concert on thursday! it was super fun, jillianne and i were going with ben and john. a little bit last minute brandon decided he was coming and when it was like 20 minutes till we were supposed to leave something happened and he didn't have anyone to go with. SO we told brandon we would find someone for him to go with and me and jillianne went on a hunt for a fun girl to go with us. none of our roommates could go, they were all busy so we went next door to these fun girls room. we asked if anyone wanted to come, it was a bit of a problem because we had to leave in like 10 minutes. one girl rebecca decided to come with though, she is SO fun! haha all of the girls next door are a blast, they are the ones who inspired us to re-do our kitchen. so rebecca hurried and got ready and then we went over to the boys house to get ready to leave.

the concert was really fun, one of the opening bands was so good it was called tally hall. they were really fun, i liked them alot!

then the band we came to see came out, it was a guster concert. now i had never heard of them, but apparently a lot of other people have! but they were really good i liked the music alot. the only thing i didn't like was the part where everyone was dancing. anyone who knows me knows that i don't particularly love dancing. so other than that it was great! haha

after the concert, it was forever long, we got back to provo at 12 or so, we went to get something to eat at wendys. so we got some food and we were outside by our houses at the basketball courts talking and eating for a while. at like 1:30 we were done and we finally went home! at this point i had a bit of a dilema because i sort of had a paper due the next day. and i had classes and then work the whole time up till my class. so my plan was that i would write the paper when i got home from the concert. oh and i had to read a book for it too :). well i eventually finished the paper the next day, lets just say it wasn't the best paper i have ever written. actually it was horrbile. but i finished it!
c. on thursday after my class where i turned in my paper we had waffle thursday! now i know that doesn't sound right, its supposed to be waffle wednesday but for this week we had to reschedule because of the concert we went to. so waffle thursday it was. jillianne made some DELICIOUS homemade waffles and we all had a lot of fun! we had our fhe boys over (not all of them came because they went to a play) and some of rachels friends over. we call them rachels boys because we know them through her. we also had the girls from next door come over, although they came late and missed the waffles! we are going to rotate sorta between all of the groups who came, and i think we might even through in french toast friday to mix it up a bit.
d. this sorta goes with the last one but i think its separate too. so before rachel (another roommate) came to byu she had some shots. i did too and i hate shots. but thats beside the point. so she had a meningitis (sp?) shot and apparently something happened, they hit a nerve or something. so her arm has been hurting really bad since then. two weeks or so she had someone come and give her a blessing and that made it a little better but it still hurt. i guess it was during the day on thursday and her arm was hurting really bad, like worse that before and she was like shaking really bad and obviously in a lot of pain. one of the girls called our bishop and someone ended up coming to give her another blessing...she had to go to the e.r. and has a sling and some medicine that is supposed to help. so it was on thursday, (waffle thursday) and she didn't feel well at all, so we kicked everyone out a little early and she went to bed. i feel so bad for her, it obviously hurts her really bad, and if you touch her arm even just a little bit, it hurts her so bad! don't worry i have a story about that later. so basically they are just waiting to see what her insurance will cover, she may have an m.r.i. or some nerve mapping thing? i don't really know but she better get that fixed because she isn't doing so well!
e. so on friday i was supposed to work for eight hours but it was a happy day and i got off early! i got off around 3 so i decided to call jillianne and jason (an fhe boy) to see if they wanted to go give blood with me. there was a blood drive that had been going on the whole week on campus and we had talked about going to donate, but i had to work. so since i didn't have to work anymore we decided to go down there! it was jilliannes first time so she was nervous, we got there at 4:30 ish and found out there was like a 3 hour long wait. bleckh. but we decided to do it so we went to jamba juice and got a smoothie and then went and found ourselves a place to sit! after sitting for about 2 hours jillianne decided that had too much homework and things to do so she decided that she would do it on monday...i felt so bad though because too bad she decided that after wasting two hours! so she left and it was just jason and i. he is from florida and has lots of good stories about alligator hunting and such so he entertained me. hes a fun kid! finally it was our turn to give blood...it wasn't bad at all, in fact i think better than the other times i have given blood. haha i had a pink wrap on afterwards and ben and john signed it for me. that was fun.
f. okay so after i got back from giving blood i decided i would try and accomplish something that day! trust me i had plenty of things i could have been doing. however just when i was about ready to accomplish something ben and john came over to our place to talk to us...they had just gotten back from a pep rally so they were like crazy and a little bit out of control. they were being extremely random and funny. we were talking for a bit and they were like "ya we wanted to see if you guys want to go to a movie, it starts in like 20 minutes, we have to go!" so anyways i decided to go because it was one of the greatest movies ever, hairspray! and it was at the dollar theater. so the whole accomplishing something idea didn't work out as planned. we were hurrying to get ready to go so we wouldn't be late and i was saying bye to the other girls and i went to say goodbye to rachel and i just touched her on the shoulder when i was saying goodbye. that was a bad idea. she started crying and like sat on the ground because it hurt so bad! oh man alive i felt so awful. the poor girl, i hope she figures out what is wrong with her arm soon! ah i felt soo bad. finally after a second when she was sort of okay i left, ah the whole way to the movie i felt so bad though! well of course hairspray was delightful, i love that movie, i think its even better the second time! we went to get icecream after the movie and then the boys came over to our place and we just stayed out in the lobby doing nothing really until 1:30 because the boys can't be in our building later than 1:30. those boys make me laugh, we had fun. they had these thunderstick things from the pep rally and so we entertained ourselves with those.
g. okay so on saturday was the football game! we were excited, some of us girls went and got new shirts for the game! haha so i sort of procrastinated, we were planning on being ready by 12 ish, the game started at one. so i slept in till 11. not the greatest idea ever. i hurried and got ready and about 5 till 12 i asked the boys when they were leaving. they said in five minutes, and they said we should come, however i wasn't exactly ready so i told them we would meet them there. i finished getting ready for the most part and then i thought it would be a good idea to possibly look for my tickets. that turned out to be a disaster. i couldn't find them anywhere! when my mom was here we had gotten a little file thing, so that i would be nice and organized right? ya so thats where my tickets HAD been and i thought that that would be where they were. anyways after saying a few prayers, tearing apart my room, calling my mom and alicia, i finally found the dang things in my closet. its kinda a long story, but basically i had been using different files at one point and i switched everything over to other files, so i had these "empty" manilla files in my closet that i was going to give back to my mom. apparently i forgot to switch over the football tickets. i don't know if that makes sense... anyways i felt soo bad because jillianne had been ready to leave the whole time but she wouldn't leave with out me so we weren't as early as we had hoped. but it turned out alright! we ran over to the stadium and when we found the boys there were sitting in the very front row! i guess john had a seat there and so we all just sat with him! so we were right next to the field it was great! the game was fun, we won, and it started raining in the second half too that was lovely!

i saw one of alicias friends jeremiah during the game and said hi to him, he was on the field because he works for the sports department. after the game all of the football players run around the field and hit everyones hand so i definatly touched them. haha one of my friends torivio told me that i should date one of the players and so im making progress, because i did give him a high five. i also touched cosmo cougar which my brother kade should be proud of.
after the game i did my laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and went grocery shopping so that was good! we went over to the boys house later and watched a movie which was fun. it was kicking and screaming, a classic!
h. today, sunday, church was really good, i espcially loved relief society! the talk was on the talk from conference called "tounge of angels" by jeffrey r. holland. a great talk, you should all read it! heres the link: tongue of angels.

i. my family got tickets for general conference! yay can't wait, hope they can come...as long as they don't have soccer they should be up. that depends on how their season goes, if they have a good record (which they are undefeated at the moment) they will have a bye. so they better keep winning! and don't worry our football team beat weiser (the rival team from home) at weisers homecoming! nice. fruitland sports are doing great this year...karli and laurens name were mentioned in the paper for soccer! it said "Karli Farmer added a highlight-reel goal to give the Grizzlies a 6-1 halftime lead. Farmer’s goal capped the first half with a diving header that tickled the twine and ignited the fans." haha that was for karli and about lauren they said: "Lauren Farmer had two assists." way to represent! joslin and jami did great also :)
